I’ve always found MOTs a bit stressful but the technicians here made the whole process painless. They were transparent about what needed doing and didn’t try to push unnecessary repairs. It’s rare to find such an honest garage these days.
Sarah Thompson

Quick, efficient and great value for money. The diagnostic check was thorough and the staff were very knowledgeable.

Frequently Asked Questions
Car Servicing
1. What kind of repairs can you carry out?
We can carry out mechanical and electrical repairs on any make or model of car. Some common repairs that we provide are:
- Clutch replacement
- Diagnostic check (if warning lights are displaying on your dashboard we can identify and remedy the fault)
- Engine repairs
- Fuel drain (if you have put petrol in a diesel engine or diesel in a petrol)
- Exhaust system repairs
- Steering and suspensions repairs
- Catalytic converter repairs
2. Do you use high quality parts?
Yes – all parts used by us are manufactured to Original Equipment (OE) quality. Please note that there is an additional charge added in the autocentre for platinum or long life spark plugs.
3. How long is the work guaranteed for?
We’re so confident in the quality of our car servicing, we guarantee all our work and parts for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever is sooner.
4. Do you offer a manufacturer's service?
Yes – if you would like to have a manufacturer’s service instead of one our menu services, please contact us for a quote specific to your vehicle.
MOT
1. What types of vehicle do you MOT?
- Cars (Class 4)
- Class 7 Vehicles (vehicles in the 3.0 to 3.5 tonne weight range, including vans, pickups and transits)
Unfortunately we cannot test three-wheeled vehicles or motorcycles in our centre.
2. How soon can you get me in?
Use our online booking form to book straight into our local test centre, so if you’re in a hurry, you can book for today – right up until the appointment time.
3. How long does it take?
The test takes 45 minutes, however please allow up to an hour in case any minor repairs are needed. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before your appointment (you can bring your car in any time from opening onwards).
4. What can I do to make sure my car passes?
Many failures we see every day could be prevented by drivers carrying out some simple checks before bringing their vehicle in. Common avoidable faults include light bulbs, tyre condition and pressure, mirrors, wipers and washers.
5. What documents do I need to bring?
If your vehicle is undergoing its first MOT then a V5C vehicle registration certificate (log book) is required, this document is also required if your vehicle has had a change of registration plate since its last MOT. In all other instances no documentation is required.
6. What do I do if I feel that my vehicle has been incorrectly failed for its MOT?
If you feel that your vehicle has been incorrectly failed, DVSA suggest that you should first discuss the situation with the MOT testing station. This will give them to opportunity to explain why the vehicle has failed and make redress if they’ve made an error. If you are still unhappy and it is within 14 days of the failure, you can obtain an appeal form (VT17) from the testing station or from DVSA’s website and submit this.
